Türkiye as a sourcing base: independent medicine sourcing support

Institutional buyers look to Türkiye for specialty and oncology medicines for two structural reasons: the state pricing mechanism, and a mandatory serial-level track and trace system that lets a buyer verify a pack in person rather than take a supplier's word for it.

This page explains plainly what an independent sourcing and procurement support service can and cannot do for a hospital, clinic, distributor or wholesaler abroad, and what to check before relying on anyone offering to move Turkish medicines out of the country on your behalf.

Why Türkiye is a sourcing base at all

Turkish medicine prices are set by a state mechanism: a fixed pharmaceutical euro rate rather than the spot exchange rate, a reference price derived from the lowest ex-factory price in a designated basket of EU member states, and a mandatory public discount on top. The result is a structurally lower price level for the same originator packs, produced by the same manufacturers, sold for the domestic market.

We publish no price for any medicine. The mechanism is a published fact about a state system; what we can achieve for a specific enquiry is given only in an individual written reply. Read the official lists yourself and compare.

İTS: verifying a pack yourself, at handover

Türkiye's İlaç Takip Sistemi records every pack at every change of custody, at serial level, as a mandatory state system. Each pack carries a printed karekod encoding GTIN, serial number, batch and expiry.

For a buyer, the practical point is that this can be checked in person, on the pack, at the moment of handover — against the pharmacy invoice, not against a shipping document from a party you have never met. A pack that does not reconcile should be refused on the spot.

How medicine actually moves: procurement and in-person handover

    • We are not a distributor, exporter or shipper, and we hold no GDP certificate. We locate and procure medicines ourselves from licensed pharmacies in Türkiye.
    • The medicine is handed over in person to the buyer or their named representative. There is no courier consignment arranged by us.
    • For 2–8 °C medicines, the pack travels accompanied in a qualified cold box for the journey to handover, with a calibrated data logger shown to the buyer at that point.
    • Moving the medicine out of Türkiye and into the destination country — including any import permit or licensed-importer requirement — is the buyer's own route, discussed honestly before we procure anything.

Who uses this kind of support

    Hospital procurement and specialty pharmacy
Individual written replies, pack verification at in-person handover, tender responses researched case by case.
    Private clinics and oncology centres
Single-patient sourcing, accompanied cold-box handling, the named-patient route where the product is unlicensed locally.
    Licensed importers and distributors
Procurement and in-person handover in Türkiye, with their own import route and licensing arranged separately.
    Pharmaceutical wholesalers
Procurement of specific lines and in-person handover to their representative in Türkiye.

What to check before relying on any Turkish sourcing route

    • Whether the party actually procures the medicine from a licensed pharmacy, or simply claims to — ask which pharmacy dispensed a given pack.
    • Whether the İTS karekod, batch and expiry on the pack can be checked in person against the pharmacy invoice at handover.
    • Whether the party claims to be a licensed wholesaler, distributor or holder of a distribution authorisation. We do not, and any sourcing party that does should be able to show the licence against the regulator's own register.
    • Whether prices are published anywhere. Publishing a price for a prescription medicine is advertising, and in several destination markets it is prohibited — it tells you how that party treats regulatory boundaries generally.

    How Pharmacy Remedy Works

Four steps, from your first question to handover.

    1. Step 1

      Ask about the medicine

Tell us the medicine name, strength, quantity and destination country.

    2. Step 2

      Availability check

We check whether the medicine is obtainable through licensed Türkiye pharmacy channels.

    3. Step 3

      Prescription and quote

Send your prescription. You receive a written quote within 24 hours.

    4. Step 4

      In-person delivery

Delivered by hand, with the invoice and karekod verification at handover.

A valid prescription is required. Medicines are sourced through licensed Türkiye pharmacy channels; the licence belongs to those channels, not to Pharmacy Remedy.

    Other buyer types

    Request the product list

Institutional buyers — hospitals, oncology centres, clinics, licensed importers and wholesalers — can request the current list of medicines we can look into sourcing through licensed Türkiye pharmacy channels. The form captures the details needed to answer a sourcing enquiry properly.

    Frequently asked questions

Can a Turkish pharmacy export directly to our hospital?

We do not arrange export or shipment. We procure the medicine from a licensed pharmacy and hand it over in person; moving it into your country, including any import permit required, is your own route.

What makes a Turkish pack verifiable?

İTS, the mandatory Turkish track and trace system, prints a karekod on every pack encoding GTIN, serial number, batch and expiry. You can check this in person against the pharmacy invoice at handover.

    Do you publish prices?

No. Every enquiry gets an individual written reply, normally within 24 hours. The state pricing mechanism itself is explained on this site, with links to the official published lists.
