How ABRAXANE Works
ABRAXANE works by disrupting the normal function of microtubules, which are essential for cell division. The albumin-bound paclitaxel particles are approximately 130 nanometers in size and are designed to take advantage of natural albumin transport pathways to deliver more drug directly to tumors.
Once inside cancer cells, paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules and prevents their disassembly, which is necessary for cell division. This leads to cell cycle arrest and eventual cell death (apoptosis). The nab-paclitaxel formulation achieves 33% higher tumor drug concentrations compared to solvent-based paclitaxel, while also reducing the risk of severe allergic reactions.
The albumin coating also helps ABRAXANE accumulate in tumors through a process called enhanced permeability and retention (EPR), where the leaky blood vessels in tumors allow the nanoparticles to preferentially accumulate in cancerous tissue.
About ABRAXANE 100mg
ABRAXANE (paclitaxel protein-bound particles for injectable suspension) 100mg by Bristol Myers Squibb is a breakthrough albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel that has transformed chemotherapy delivery. Unlike conventional paclitaxel (Taxol), ABRAXANE uses human albumin as a delivery vehicle, eliminating the need for toxic solvents and reducing hypersensitivity reactions. This nanoparticle albumin-bound (nab) technology allows for higher drug concentrations at the tumor site while minimizing systemic toxicity. ABRAXANE is FDA-approved for metastatic breast cancer after failure of combination chemotherapy, first-line treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in combination with carboplatin, and first-line treatment of metastatic adenocarcinoma of the pancreas in combination with gemcitabine. As a licensed pharmaceutical supplier based in Turkey, we provide authentic Bristol Myers Squibb ABRAXANE with complete cold chain handling, certificate of authenticity, and competitive wholesale pricing for hospitals, oncology clinics, and pharmaceutical distributors worldwide. Dosage Information
ABRAXANE dosing varies by indication and should always be determined by a qualified oncologist:
Metastatic Breast Cancer:
Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (with carboplatin):
Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma (with gemcitabine):
Dose modifications may be required based on neutrophil counts, platelet counts, and occurrence of severe neuropathy.
Always consult with a qualified healthcare professional for proper dosing. This information is for reference only.
Storage & Handling
Store ABRAXANE vials in the original carton at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Protect from bright light. Do not freeze.
